The Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) has expressed appreciation to Orange Liberia for the level of support and for recently sponsoring their trip to Paris and Ivory Coast.

During their visit to Paris and Abidjan, senior members of the Liberia National Fire Service gained first-hand insights in curtailing the numerous fire disasters that have engulfed Liberia of late. They visited national fire service headquarters and other sites, and gained requisite knowledge in handling these incidents.

The team returned to Liberia at Orange Liberia’s office over the weekend where they were appreciative to the CEO of Orange Liberia, Jean Marius Yao. They told the Orange CEO that they learned lots of things from the trip. Some of them revealed that it was their first time to ever ride an airplane.

The Director of LNFS, G. Warsuwah Barwoul Sr., thanked and expressed appreciation to Orange Liberia for the exposure opportunities given to them. According to him, by sponsoring the program Orange Liberia has empowered the Liberia National Fire Service with greater operational efficiency, exposure to modern standards, and the tools needed to deliver safer and more professional emergency response services.

Director Barwoul asked the CEO of Orange Liberia to help them build one fire station in all 73 districts of the country, and to help enhance the response teams around the country.

He vowed that LNFS will impact the environment with their skills by creating awareness in the communities, warning parents to stop their children from putting mosquito cods on electrical appliances.

In response, Orange Liberia’s CEO, Yao, said they have been supporting the Liberia National Fire Service for a very long time, and that they are willing to do more.

CEO Yao stated that the collaboration underscores Orange Liberia’s on-going commitment not only to communication and technology but also to safety, institutional growth, and national capacity building.
