Foreign Minister Nyanti Meets With UNDP Country Rep.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Sara Beysolow Nyanti, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 held a significant meeting with Anthony Ohemeng-Boamah, the new United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Country Representative to Liberia. The meeting underscored the strong partnership between the Government of Liberia (GOL) and the UNDP in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and addressing pressing socio-economic challenges.

   During the meeting, Foreign Minister Nyanti and Ohemeng-Boamah discussed key areas of cooperation, including poverty reduction, governance, and capacity building. They emphasized the importance of aligning development initiatives with Liberia’s national development agenda to ensure the effective utilization of resources and the achievement of long-term goals.

   Foreign Minister Nyanti expressed her appreciation for the UNDP’s continued support and highlighted the critical role of international partnerships in driving progress and fostering resilience in Liberia.

   She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with the UNDP to enhance development outcomes and improve the quality of life for all Liberians.

   Ohemeng-Boamah reiterated the UNDP’s dedication to supporting Liberia’s development efforts, and praised the government’s initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development. He assured Foreign Minister Nyanti of the UNDP’s on-going support in addressing the country’s development challenges and achieving its strategic objectives.

   The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to strengthen collaboration and explore new avenues for partnership, ensuring that the combined efforts of the Government of Liberia (GOL) and the UNDP continue to contribute to the nation’s progress and prosperity.
