As the euphoria of the 2023 general and presidential elections is beginning to gain momentum in Liberia, the re-election bid of President George Manneh Weah continues to preoccupy many, who believe in his ability to lead the nation for another six years following the end of his first term of office.

This is manifested in an assertion made by the Islamic Advisor to President Weah, Usmane T. Jalloh, disclosing that the Friends of Usmane Jalloh, a political auxiliary group, plans to launch a massive recruitment campaign at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia on November 28, 2022, aimed at engaging hundreds of thousands of people to support the re-election bid of President Weah nationwide.

He made the assertion on August 10, 2022 in Monrovia when he spoke with newsmen in an interview.

The President’s Advisor informed the Hot Pepper that, ahead of the launch of the recruitment campaign, his group has visited seven counties engaging significant numbers of persons in towns and villages on the re-election bid of President Weah. “We recently visited Sinoe County where we recruited one hundred and fifty thousand people to support the re-election bid of President Weah in 2023’s general and presidential elections,” Jalloh indicated.

Determined to ensure that the President’s re-election bid gains huge support, Jalloh averred that his group, Friends of Usmane Jalloh, apart from the recruitment of over 150,000 people in Sinoe County, continues to engage thousands of people in several other counties, naming Bong, Lofa, Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, Marbigi, Grand Bassa and Gbarpolu among them.

Providing reason why his group plans to launch a massive recruitment campaign of hundreds of thousands of people to support the re-election bid of President Weah ahead of 2023’s general and presidential elections, he pointed out that the President’s development agenda for the nation is enormous, as since his inception into power in 2017 he has carried out substantial development initiatives that have immensely impacted the lives of many Liberians.

“President Weah is yet to complete his development agenda for the nation, which cannot be done in his first term of office. Therefore, we need to allow him another six years term to move our nation to another level of development,” the Islamic Advisor to the President stated.

Jalloh envisions that supporting the re-election bid of President Weah places Liberia on the right trajectory to economic development in the comity of nations.

He then indicated that, in order to ensure that the re-election bid of President Weah becomes fruitful in 2023’s general and president elections, his group will reach out to people throughout the length and breadth of Liberia to rally around the President, seeking their support for his re-election.
