As the House of Representatives mourns the death of Sinoe County’s district #2 Representative, Jay Nagbe Sloh, Grand Bassa County Representative, Thomas A. Goshua, has requested the management of the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Medical Hospital to appear before plenary of the House of Representatives to explain the privacy protocols laid down at the hospital.

According to the Chairman of the Grand Bassa County Legislative Caucus, JFK Hospital, being one of Liberia’s referral hospitals, should have the issue of privacy protocol as key, and that the action of the hospital to display the photo of a dying patient in their private ward is a total disrespect to the dead.

Speaking in Session on Thursday, July 2, 2020, Representative Goshua asserted that the photography of one of their fallen colleagues while admitted at the John F. Kennedy Hospital is being displayed on social media, with denigrating comments from all viewers.

“This is happening as we speak without any regard to his family and this august body. What’s more of concern is how did this picture get into the public glare when there is suppose to be privacy for patients at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital,” the Grand Bassa County lawmaker stated.

The late Sinoe County district #2 lawmaker has been battling a series of illnesses for nearly a year, and was pronounced dead at the JFK Hospital on June 30, 2020.

A motion was proffered by Lofa County’s district #3 Representative that the management and nurses on duty that night appear before the leadership of the House of Representatives to explain the privacy of health protocols at the JFK.
