The Liberia Land Authority (LLA), in partnership with the Judiciary, will conduct a workshop for Circuit and Probate Court judges, magistrates and other judicial actors from the 15 counties of Liberia on the speedy adjudication of land and related cases in various courts in Liberia.

The three-day workshop, which runs from August 1–3 in Gbarnga, Bong County, will also provide information on the Liberia Land Authority and the Land Rights Act, the Act Against the Criminal Conveyance of Land, as well as discuss the land administration related resolutions derived from the Supreme Court Judiciary Conference in 2021 and their operationalization.

One of the major challenges faced by the judiciary, including judges and magistrates, who are key stakeholders, is the lack of adequate information on important policy and legal reform deliverables of the ongoing land reform process, including but not limited to the Land Rights Act of 2018.

The workshop is supported by the Inclusive Land Administration and Management Project (ILAMP), funded by the Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

The targeted participants, who are mainly members of the National Association of Trial Judges of Liberia, will come from Bomi, Bong, Cape Mount, Gbarpolu, Grand Bassa, Margibi, Rivercess, Lofa, Nimba, River Gee, Grand Gedeh, Grand Kru, Maryland, Montserrado and Sinoe counties.
