The President of the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA), Cllr. Bornor M. Varmah, has informed newly admitted attorneys-at-law that law is not merely a career, but a calling—one that demands integrity, professionalism, and a dedication to justice.

Cllr. Varmah noted that, as members of the Liberian National Bar Association, they now share in the sacred duty of upholding the dignity of the legal profession, and urged them to always conduct themselves with the highest ethical standards, with the mindset that the law is an instrument of justice, not a tool for personal gain.

The LNBA President made the remarks on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Temple of Justice during the admission of newly commissioned attorneys-at-law into the LNBA.

He welcomed the new cohort of legal professionals into the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA), and observed that the occasion marked a significant milestone in the lives of the newly admitted attorneys who have worked diligently to earn the right to be called members of the noble profession.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations. Your journey has been one of perseverance, commitment and discipline. The law is not merely a career, it is a calling—one that demands integrity, professionalism, and a dedication to justice. As you take this solemn oath, remember that your duty extends beyond the courtroom; it reaches into the very fabric of our society, where justice, fairness and the rule of law must prevail,” he told the admitted attorneys.

“The challenges ahead will be many, but with perseverance and a commitment to excellence you will rise above them. You must never compromise your principles, and you must always be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves,” he added.

He underscored that the LNBA remains committed to fostering a strong, independent, and professional bar. “We will continue to support you in your growth through training, mentorship, and advocacy for a fair and just legal system in Liberia. Once again, congratulations on this remarkable achievement. May your careers be marked by integrity, service, and an unwavering commitment to justice,” he stated.
