The Governor of Lions Clubs International District 403A2, Lion Michel Boua, has wrapped up an official visit to Liberia with high commendation for the Lions Club of Liberia, praising its commitment to the global motto, “We Serve”, through visible community projects and humanitarian initiatives.

The visit, part of Governor Boua’s district-wide tour across West Africa, brought together members of the Liberian chapter in Monrovia. During his stay, he held discussions with club leaders, reviewed on-going projects, and explored strategies to strengthen service delivery and expand the club’s impact nationwide.

Speaking to the media after meeting with members, Governor Boua hailed the Liberian Lions for their programs in healthcare, education, youth empowerment, and humanitarian outreach—carried out despite limited resources.

He noted that the club’s interventions align with the broader priorities of Lions Clubs International, particularly in serving vulnerable communities.

“Their service is visible. I visited JFK Hospital and saw the clinic that the club supports. That kind of commitment is inspiring. Liberia’s Lions have shown that when people unite for the common good, lives are truly transformed,” Governor Boua said.

He encouraged the Liberian chapter to keep focusing on sustainable initiatives, especially in eye health, child welfare, and support for disaster-affected communities.

“We must think beyond today’s needs. Our work must ensure that generations to come benefit from the programs and structures we put in place now,” he added.

The Governor expressed gratitude to the leadership of the local club, recognizing their contributions as both a fulfillment of their responsibility and an affirmation of Liberia’s place within the global Lions family.

He emphasized that his assessment showed the chapter’s commitment to expanding its campaigns in eye care, strengthening school support, and scaling up outreach programs across the country.

Governor Boua’s Liberia stop forms part of his broader tour of District 403A2, which covers Togo, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, and Liberia. His mission focuses on building collaboration among national chapters, ensuring local clubs remain strong partners in addressing pressing development challenges.

As the world’s largest service club with over 1.4 million members across more than 200 countries, Lions Club International has been at the forefront of global humanitarian service for more than a century.

Liberia’s chapter, though relatively small in size, has played an active role in this legacy, extending services to both urban and rural communities.

With Governor Boua’s encouragement, the Lions Club of Liberia has been galvanized to intensify its efforts, particularly in youth engagement, healthcare delivery, and poverty reduction programs. Club leaders are also expected to seek new partnerships with civil society and government institutions to expand their reach.

Governor Boua’s message left a clear charge: that the Lions of Liberia must continue to rise as a beacon of hope for the most vulnerable, sustaining the spirit of service that defines the global Lions movement.
