LIS Commissioner Generals Take Office Today

The newly confirmed bosses of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) are expected to start official duties at the LIS headquarters today, Monday, March 11, 2024, after the turnover ceremony is conducted by Colonel Catherine B. Solomon, Human Resource Officer of the entity.

Hundreds of men and woman of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) are expected to grace the ceremony today, which will be held during the morning hours at the LIS headquarters in Mamba Point, Monrovia.

Already, the new Commissioner General of the LIS, Steve Zargo, promised major transformation at LIS during his confirmation hearing at the Liberian Senate.

According to Zargo, all hands are needed on deck in addressing the challenges faced by the institution.

The LIS new boss also vowed to push for salary for LIS personnel, and disclosed a plan by his team to revamp every segment of the entity.

According to information gathered, several actors of the security sector are expected to grace the turnover ceremony today.

Heads of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) to be inducted today are Stephen Zargo, Commissioner General (U-300); Elijah F. Rufus, Deputy Commissioner General for Administration (U-301); A. Kundukai Jeleiba, Deputy Commissioner for Operations (U-302); and Atty. Dickson R. Tamba, Deputy Commissioner General for Naturalization (U-303).
