The Minister of Labor, Cllr. Charles H. Gibson, has ordered the management of MANO Manufacturing Company to immediately reinstate all recently dismissed employees who had served as contractors for over the period of one year.
The Minister has also ordered the management of the company to halt all deduction of employees’ salaries for remittance as dues to the Workplace Association’s leadership.
Minister Gibson was speaking on Monday, June 13, 2022, during a social dialogue meeting with the management and some aggrieved workers of MANO Manufacturing Company at the Ministry of Labor in Monrovia.
Minister Gibson has at the same time requested that a mother union be identified and established to serve as bargaining agent for the workers of the company, but in the meantime is calling for the setting up of an interim workplace leadership within two weeks to steer the affairs of the workers prior to the coming in of a mother union to commence negotiation with the management of the company on a collective bargaining agreement (CBA)
He emphasized the need for the immediate provision of safety gears to employees as a means of protecting them against work-related injuries.
