The Minister of States for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel F. McGill, has praised the Representative of Nimba County district #4, Gunpue L. Kargon, famously known as “Dubai King”, for his development initiatives and pledged L$5 million toward his projects.

Minister McGill, who spoke during a groundbreaking ceremony for a modern guest house for the people of district #4 over the weekend, urged the people of the district to work with Representative Kargon because he has continued to push the interest of the district when it comes to development.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel,” he told hundreds of citizens who trooped in to witness the first appearance of a minister of state for presidential affairs in the history of their district.

Minister McGill said the Government of Liberia (GOL) will work with Representative Kargon to ensure the people of district #4 get their just benefit.

Representative Kargon was taken by surprise when Minister McGill expressed interest in helping the women project and promised to give L$5 million to help the lawmaker with his project.

Meanwhile, some high school students who pleaded with Minister McGill for study class fees are expected to receive L$300,000 today, as promised. He said those in opposition praying for sanctions on officials of government are doing no good to the country, and warned them to desist.

A prominent citizen of the district, who attended the program and preferred not to be named, said the lawmaker has made great history to bring the Minister of State who is a direct representation of the President of the Republic of Liberia.
