The Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND) has hailed the effective and efficient performance of the Director of the Passport Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Joseph W. Mendin.

According to a release issued over the weekend by the civil society group, the Passport Director has ensured an effective and efficient management of the Division of Passport, and provided quality services to the Liberian public by putting a system in place to detect and prevent fraud in obtaining Liberian passport and visa.

The CSO group praised Director Mendin’s outstanding performance, loyalty, honesty and commitment in ensuring that the interest of Liberia is served at all times.

“In addition to his national service, Director Mendin is also a humanitarian who supports media groups for their smooth operation, as well as civil society organizations in their activism to make the society better. He has also brought relief to several religious groups, less fortunate children, disadvantaged youth, the disabled and the elderly,” the release stated.

The CSO group urged Director Mendin to continue his hard work in the interest of the Liberian people at the Division of Passport and Visa.

“Director Mendin holds a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and a master’s degree from the University of Liberia, a graduate diploma in international relations, Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a certificate in computer science.

“He comes to the position with immense worth of experience, previously serving in several capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Diplomatic V.I.P Security Agent, Division of Security; Computer Operator, Bureau of Passports and Visas; Data Clerk, Bureau of Passports; Deputy Director of Passports, Bureau of Passports & Visas, amongst others,” the release recounted.

“With these experiences, Director Mendin has brought transformation and reliability to the division, and it was by no mistake that he was appointed to that position. We thank President George M. Weah for his preferment of Director Mendin in serving the Liberian people,” the release, signed by MIND’s Executive Director, Sekou D. Sonii, continued.
