The Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND) says it welcomes several new reforms undertaken by Minister Cooper Kruah at the Ministry of Labor.

The group in a release dated Tuesday, April 16, 2024 thanked President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for appointing Minister Kruah to steer the affairs of the labor sector, saying there could not have been any better pick.

The group stated that Minister Kruah is implementing several new measures to improve the labor sector and bring rapid development to the lives of ordinary Liberians through employment opportunities.

MIND lauded initiatives to improve the ministry and the labor sector as a whole, including the training of regional Labor officers to work on labor standards issues within the counties as well as creating uniforms for labor inspectors to be identified in the discharge of their duties. Commissioners and hearing officers are also included as key beneficiaries of these trainings.

According to the group, the minister is implementing new mechanisms aimed at ensuring the registration of aliens, which they believe will be a good revenue source for the Government of Liberia (GOL).

MIND has also hailed the minister over a plan to ensure that foreigners do not occupy jobs or positions dedicated to Liberians through the full enforcement of the Decent Work Act.

The group further thanked Minister Kruah for intervening in recent labor disputes between some companies and Liberia citizens in their employ.

MIND said they want the minister to remain steadfast in transforming the labor sector of the country, and must at no point in time be distracted by those who would attempt to bring his administration into public ridicule.
