Ministry of Education Commences Nationwide School Assessment Tour
The Ministry of Education has commenced a nationwide school assessment tour, with the objective of conducting thorough field assessments of the educational delivery system and identifying obstacles impeding the advancement of quality, equitable and accessible education services throughout Liberia.
This initiative, which kicked off on Sunday, March 17, 2024, marks the inauguration of phase one, is expected to conclude on April 2, 2024, and is supported by the government and its development partners.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, and her team at the ministry have expressed determination to confront challenges within the education sector, mobilize support and bridge existing gaps obstructing Liberia’s educational trajectory.
In line with this vision, the ministry has vowed to execute a rapid yet comprehensive evaluation to promptly identify areas requiring attention and improvement.
According to a MOE press release, the nationwide tour will unfold in five phases, commencing in the southeastern region of Liberia.
Minister Jallah and her team are said to have finalized schedules for appropriate engagements, including interactions with students, teachers, administrators, county and district education officers, parents and all education stakeholders.
The release continued that the school monitoring tour will be an on-going and consistent process, emblematic of the ministry’s enduring commitment to fostering tangible, positive change within the education landscape.
