Francess J. Nyenpan, daughter of the late Public Works Minister, Mobutu Vlah Nyenpan and Lois Nimley Wisner (Attorney at Law), is on today, Thursday, May 11, 2023, graduating from Temple University with a bachelor of science in health professions.

Nyenpan has been recognized as the youngest graduate in the class of 2023 at Temple University, Pennsylvania, United States of America. She joins nearly 10,000 students from 115 countries and 47 states in the United States in this achievement.

Before enrolling at Temple University, Nyenpan volunteered at the Ridley High School Peer Mentoring Program in Pennsylvania, where she graduated before entering college. As a peer mentor, Francess played an instrumental role in students’ lives, providing them with emotional support, especially to those who were misunderstood, and assisting elementary and middle school students with schoolwork.

She has meanwhile disclosed her intention to return to Liberia after completing her medical degree to contribute to the health system. According to her, the inspiration for this decision stems from watching her father’s struggle for survival at the John F. Kennedy Hospital and subsequently being flown to Ghana for advanced medical treatment.

Frances J. Nyenpan, the youngest graduate from Temple University in Pennsylvania, spoke with intense emotion about her late father, Mobutu Vlah Nyenpan, a former Public Works Minister. She expressed deep sorrow and regret, tears streaming down her face as she shared how much she misses him and wished he could witness her achievement. She paid tribute to her father, whom she described as a faithful and loving parent whose memory she will always cherish. She also divulged that he instilled in her the importance of prioritizing God and education, a valuable lesson she holds dear.

Nyenpan expressed thanks to all her family members (Nyenpan, Nimley, Nelson and Wisner) for the love and support, as well as her step-father, Alascal Yii Wisner, who is standing by her in every way and is always there for her. She also acknowledged her grandmom, Elizabeth Welleh Nelson, whom she referred to as her “prayer warrior” and the love of her life. Most importantly, she acknowledged her mother and lifesaver, Lois Nimely Wisner, whom she said can do any and everything for her.
