New Energy Electric Vehicles-Liberia (NEEV) has announced the launch of its groundbreaking Sustainable Transport Empowerment Program (STEP) training in Monrovia: Thursday to Friday, March 21—22, 2024. The training is aimed at offering skills, empowerment, and employment opportunities to over 100 drivers to operate electric vehicles and champion sustainable transport outcomes in the country.

NEEV Liberia, a pioneering e-mobility startup dedicated to transforming Liberia’s transport sector through the introduction of electric vehicles and sustainable practices, says it is proud to unveil its latest initiative.

“With a core focus on sustainability, inclusivity and economic growth, NEEV aims to create a more environmentally friendly and socially responsible transport ecosystem. “At NEEV Liberia, we envision a future where sustainable transport solutions drive economic prosperity while preserving our environment for future generations,” said Molley Paasewe, Managing Director of NEEV Liberia. He noted, “The launch of our Sustainable Transport Empowerment training program marks a significant milestone in our journey towards achieving this vision.”

The Sustainable Transport Empowerment Program (STEP) represents a transformative initiative aimed at addressing unemployment challenges, while simultaneously fostering the adoption of sustainable transport solutions in Liberia. With a focus on creating tangible pathways to economic empowerment, STEP trainings will offer a unique opportunity for over 100 individuals in Liberia to receive specialized training tailored to the emerging e-mobility sector. Through a carefully designed curriculum, participants will gain hands-on experience and technical expertise in operating electric vehicles, equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in this growing industry.

Beyond imparting technical knowledge, STEP goes a step further by empowering participants to become entrepreneurs in their own right. By providing participants with the opportunity to own the electric vehicles they operate, the program catalyzes entrepreneurship and economic self-sufficiency. This ownership model not only instills a sense of ownership and responsibility but also opens up avenues for financial independence and wealth creation. Participants are not just employees but entrepreneurs, driving their own businesses forward and contributing to the economic prosperity of their communities.

Moreover, by promoting ownership and entrepreneurship among participants, STEP fosters a culture of innovation and initiative within the e-mobility sector. Participants are encouraged to take ownership of their futures, leveraging their newfound skills and resources to navigate the evolving landscape of sustainable transport. Through this holistic approach to empowerment, STEP not only addresses immediate employment needs but also cultivates a cohort of skilled entrepreneurs equipped to drive long-term sustainable development in Liberia. NEEV Liberia is committed to gender equality and empowerment, ensuring over 30% female representation in the program. By promoting gender diversity and inclusivity, NEEV aims to empower women in the e-mobility sector and drive meaningful societal change. “We believe that by empowering individuals to embrace sustainable transport solutions, we can create a cleaner, greener, and more prosperous future for Liberia,” added Paasewe.

In partnership with the Ministry of Transport, NEEV Liberia will host the official launch event of the Sustainable Transport Empowerment Program and kick off the training for 2 days at its head office in Monrovia and subsequently host trainings in other parts of the country. This event will serve as a platform to showcase the program’s objectives, engage stakeholders, and celebrate the collective commitment towards a sustainable transport future.

NEEV Liberia is a pioneering e-mobility startup committed to transforming Liberia’s transport sector through the introduction of electric vehicles and sustainable practices. With a focus on sustainability, inclusivity, and economic growth, NEEV aims to create a more environmentally friendly and socially responsible transport ecosystem. Through innovative initiatives such as the Sustainable Transport Empowerment Program (STEP), NEEV Liberia is driving positive change and shaping the future of transportation in Liberia.
