Headquarters of the National Port Authority (NPA)

The  management of the National Port Authority (NPA) has dismissed as “falsified suspicion” contained in the Tuesday, December 15, 2020 Front-page Africa publication that a “patrol boat has been sold by some top NPA staff with the consent of the Managing Director, Bill Tweahway”.

Port Spokesman, Malcolm Scott, described the report as fabricated guess with nonsensical reasoning—for FPA to link the NPA management to selling a patrol boat on the basis of hearsay and mere suspicion without the corresponding fact, which was earlier released to the public regarding the selling of the boat.

Scott recalled that the NPA took a position and instituted tough administrative action on the matter—far before FrontPage latest report, whereby some of its unauthorized staff who were found culpable of selling the boat are currently being prosecuted for their action.

The NPA spokesman further said it is unthinkable for one to be hoaxed into believing that the Managing Director will “consent” to unprofitable ventures at the disadvantage of the operation of the port when monumental gains are being made under the current management team.
