The office of the Religious Advisor to His Excellency President George Manneh Weah has honored, certificated and bided farewell to the outgoing Country Director of the International Organization on Migration (IOM), Mohamed Cherif Diallo.

At a special appreciation program held at Diana Restaurant, Carey Street, on February 21, 2023, the Religious Advisor to President Weah, Alhaj Ousmane T. Jalloh, lavished praises on the outgoing IOM Country Director for the cordial working relationship since his arrival and his partnership in many development initiatives.

Advisor Jalloh recalled the many interventions undertaken by Diallo and the indelible print he leaves on the Liberian society. He then presented a certificate of appreciation to the IOM boss in recognition of his service to Liberia.

The certificate reads, “This Certificate of Appreciation is presented to Mohamed Cherif Diallo in grateful recognition of your enduring commitment and exceptional services to Liberia and humanity at large. Your passion for the organization is appreciated…”

Receiving the certificate, outgoing IOM Country Director Mohamed Cherif Diallo expressed gratitude for the recognition and described the occasion as a remarkable one that he will forever cherish.

Diallo explained that Advisor Jalloh was the first government official he interacted with when he arrived in Monrovia, and since then their relationship has been meaningful and impactful.

Prior to the certification from the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, a farewell lunch was held for Diallo by the youth of the Fula community in Liberia for the immense contribution to the tribe and the support toward the education need for the Fulani youth in Liberia.

The program, held at the Murex Plaza, 10th Street, Sinkor, was attended by stakeholders of the Fula community in Liberia, and was characterized by statements affirming the unforgettable contribution of the out-going IOM boss to Fula youths, as well as the only student group in the community, the Federation of Fula Students of Liberia (FFUSOL).

Also, the National Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce of Liberia, through the Ministry of Labor, on Friday, February 19, 2023 bided farewell to the Country Director of International Organization for Migration (IOM), acknowledging the work of Diallo as head of IOM in Liberia in helping to intensify the government’s policy direction in the fight against human trafficking in the country.

The Minister of Labor, Cllr. Charles Gibson, who is also the Chairman of the Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce, said the IOM, under Dialo, was positively influenced to work as it relates to human trafficking in the budget of government, which helped the construction of additional safe-homes for trafficked victims.

Minister Gibson described IOM’s contributions as exceptional, especially in bringing back the Liberian ladies from the Arab golf nation of Oman.
