Over sixteen opposition political parties have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to protect and safeguard citizens’ votes in the October general and presidential elections.

The signing ceremony, which was held in Monrovia on August 28, 2023 brought together major opposition political leaders in an effort to protect and safeguard their votes.

Singing the MOU on behalf of their individual political parties were Alexander Cummings, Sara Baysolow Nyanti, Tiawan Gongloe, Luther Tarpeh, Macdella Cooper, among others.

Sara Baysolow Nyanti is the lead organizer of the MOU, and she gave an overview of the entire process, while CPP Standard Bearer Cummings stated that the opposition parties will ensure the presidential results reflect the will of the Liberian people.

Cummings noted that it is the ultimate responsibility of President Weah to ensure the elections are conducted in a free and fair manner.
