President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., on Tuesday held high-level talks with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new areas of cooperation between Liberia and the UAE.

The meeting took place at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, where President Boakai was warmly received by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. Discussions centered on enhancing collaboration in key sectors such as renewable energy, healthcare, education, tourism, agriculture, and the development of transport infrastructure and logistics.

President Boakai commended the UAE for its remarkable strides in innovation and sustainable development and expressed Liberia’s readiness to deepen engagement and partnerships that will drive mutual growth and prosperity. He noted that Liberia’s development priorities align with the UAE’s vision of sustainable economic diversification and inclusive progress.

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed the UAE’s interest in strengthening relations with Liberia and other African nations, emphasizing the importance of building partnerships based on shared values, collaboration, and mutual respect.

The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments and reiterated their pledge to promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development across Africa and the broader global community.

Accompanying President Boakai were members of his delegation, including the Minister of Finance and Development Planning Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, Minister of State Without Portfolio Hadja Mamaka Bility, Director General of the Cabinet Nathanial Kwabo, Liberia’s Ambassador to the UAE Imam Mohammed Dukuly and Presidential Envoy on Trade Daniel N. Kolubah.

The meeting was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; and several ministers and senior UAE officials.

This engagement highlights President Boakai’s on-going efforts to strengthen Liberia’s international partnerships and attract strategic investments that support the country’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
