The House of Representatives will on Thursday, March 5, 2026, host former President, H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who is expected to address members during a special sitting of plenary.

In a letter addressed to the Speaker, former President Sirleaf expressed appreciation for the invitation and described it as an unprecedented gesture that will go down in history. She noted that the invitation reflects a meaningful opportunity for engagement with the Legislature.
Former President Sirleaf further confirmed that her security team has conducted an inspection of the venue and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, particularly the approach for entry.
She concluded by thanking the Speaker and members of the House, and expressed anticipation for a lively and constructive exchange during the plenary session.
