The Supreme Court of Liberia has sentenced Justin Oldman Yeazehn, alias “Prophet Key”, to six-month imprisonment at the Monrovia Central Prison for engaging in invectives, vulgar languages, profanities and outright abuse against prominent Liberians, especially women, including the mother of the Chief Justice.
According to the Supreme Court’s ruling, “Prophet Key’s” actions run contrary to the spirit, letters and intent of the Constitution; hence, his actions constitute contempt of the Supreme Court and punishable as such.
On February 2, 2026, Justin Oldpa Yeazehn (Prophet Key) did a Facebook Podcast in which he accused Chief Justice Yamie QuiQui Gbeisay, Sr. of being corrupt, claiming that the Chief Justice receives money from party litigants to render judgment in their favor.
He further accused the Chief Justice of operating a an uncompleted hotel in Ganta, and because the Chief Justice needs money to complete the construction of his hotel he is engaged in receiving money from party litigants before him.
Prophet Key further stated in his Podcast that because of the corrupt practice of the Chief Justice, who hails from Nimba County, all citizens of Nimba County have become targets of attack and criticism by the public who do not hail from Nimba County and, as such, he called for the election of Chief Justices. He added that the corruption was not just limited to the Chief Justice but other Justices of the Supreme Court Bench and Judges of the lower courts.
In his Podcast, Prophet Key used lots of invectives.
Based on the podcast, Prophet Key was summoned by the Supreme Court on February 4, 2026 to appear before the Full Bench on Tuesday, February 10 at 3:00 p.m. to show cause, if any, why he should not be held in contempt of court for his continuous and sustained barrage of invectives against the person of the Chief Justice, the Supreme Court and other members of the Supreme Court’s Bench, which have exposed the Supreme Court to Public ridicule and disrepute.
Prophet Key appeared with his legal representation, apologized, and made a promise to put an immediate halt to his profane language.
However, on Friday, February 13, 2025 the Supreme Court, after reviewing the records, heard the arguments and contentions advanced by its amici curiae and the counsels representing “Prophet Key” (the contemnor), it adjudged that, in the instant case, the contemnor having over the years engaged in invectives, vulgar language, profanities and outright abuse against prominent Liberians, especially women, and now the mother of the sitting Chief Justice, his actions run contrary to the spirit, letters and intent of the Constitution; hence, his actions constitute contempt of the Supreme Court and punishable as such.
“Wherefore and in view of the foregoing, the contemnor is hereby adjudge guilty of criminal contempt and the court hereby imposes a definite and certain imprisonment term of six (6) months or one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days at the Monrovia Central Prison, and that prior to his release, he is hereby ordered to publish a letter of apology to the Supreme Court and to all Liberians, especially Liberian women in three widely circulated newspapers for five consecutive days, and that, in addition, he is further ordered as a pre-condition to his release to execute and file a behavior bond with the Clerk of the Supreme Court, clearly indicating that he will never use invectives and vulgar language, profanities or outright abuse of any Liberian,” the Supreme Court’s verdict observed.
