Richmond D.K. Yarkpah, PRP National Chairman

The People’s Restoration Party (PRP) says its attention has been drawn to a series of coordinated disinformation campaigns propagated by certain defector elements and suspended individuals, with the sole intent of sowing seeds of disunity in the party.

In a press release issued in Monrovia over the weekend, the party said the group of individuals who remain suspended have chosen to take to the airwave to spread lies and falsehood, claiming that the National Chairman of PRP, Richmond D.K. Yarkpah, has been removed as Chairman of the party.

The party, through its National Chairman, Richmond D.K. Yarkpah, said he wished to make it categorically clear that the information is false and misleading and has no iota of truth. “The PRP remains a solid grassroots and credible political party under the leadership of Hon. Richmond D.K. Yarkpah as National Chairman,” Chairman Yarkpah stated in the press release.

Meanwhile, the party is calling on all elements involved to desist from such unruly conduct, which has the propensity of undermining the peace of the party. “We therefore call on the following suspended partisans, including Alexander N. Kollie, Alexander J. Gotolo, Histine Leama, Cooper Mykers, Louise Woods, Momo K. Follay, Korpo Kollie, Alexander C. Zahn and Reginald Sembeh, to adhere to the rule of law, consistent with the party’s constitution as enshrined in Article 15 and the regulations and guidelines relating to political parties in Chapter 11 Section 3.3 A and B of the National Elections Commission (NEC) Guidelines and Regulations,” the Chairman said.

“The PRP is hereby calling on all affected partisans to take due note and govern themselves accordingly, while also extending thanks and appreciation to the National Elections Commission (NEC) for their outstanding and credible work, thereby upholding the rule of law without fear or favour.”
