The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) says it is troubled by the shooting and killing of Journalist Chris David, a reporter of Radio Paraclete in Gbarnga City, Bong County. He previously worked for Hot FM in Gbarnga and Radio Joy Africa.

Journalist Chris David’s lifeless body was discovered Friday morning along the Gbarnga-Lofa road, with gunshots wounds. He was reportedly shot dead while riding a motorbike.

Press Union of Liberia (PUL) President, Charles B Coffey, Jr., described the killing of Journalist David as barbaric, inhumane and an attack on the entire media community.

The PUL President says he wants the Liberia National Police (LNP) and other relevant state securities to speedily investigate, pursue and bring to justice the perpetrator(s).

Coffey indicated that Liberian journalists, particularly journalists in Bong County, are now living in fear due to the wanton killing of Journalist Chris David.

President Cuffey said the Union will not relent in its quest for state security to pursue and bring to justice killer(s) of journalist Chris David.

He assured the media community and the family of the late Journalist Chris David that the PUL will not rest until justice is accorded, as it was in the case of the late Tyron Brown.

Meanwhile, the PUL is calling on civil society organizations to join the PUL in seeking justice into the wanton killing of Journalist Chris David.
