As the general and presidential elections are eight months to go, a number of candidates contesting the 73 legislative seats and the presidential seat have begun making political statements, with the latest coming from aspirant Isaac G. Clay, a representative-aspirant in district #10, Montserrado County.

Aspirant Clay says that, come October 10, 2023 general elections, he will defeat and replace Representative Yekeh Kolubah of district #10.

Aspirant Clay stated that the basis for his political ambition is predicated upon the fact that the district is not equally represented, as compared to other districts, in the House of Representatives.

According to him, Representative Kolubah used his entire six years of leadership at the National Legislature to insult President George Weah. “Yekeh cannot point to any development initiative undertaken by his leadership. When he was insulting we were working in the interest of our people,” aspirant Clay told the Hot Pepper. He said, “Insulting your fellow leaders isn’t the way out in national leadership.”

When questioned about his tangibles in the district, aspirant Clay responded that he has been providing skill training for the citizens of the district to become entrepreneurs, as well as other projects.

Aspirant Clay, who is an educator, said his first 100 days in office at the Legislature will provide the next secondary school for the district.

He used the occasion to call on residents of the district not to take Representative Kolubah as a serious candidate.

“Yekeh used his time at the Legislature to say nonsense everyday, and not providing solutions to issues affecting the district,” he added.

Aspirant Clay thanked President Weah for major development initiatives undertaken in the district.
