Montserrado County’s electoral district #3 Representative, Ceebee Barshell, has said that he is a pro-poor defender for the Constitution of Liberia, which is the organic law of Liberia, and not for the government of President George Manneh Weah.

The tough-taking Montserrado County lawmaker stated that he is not a leader that plays blind eye to the wrongdoings of people.

He sounded that since the coming of the government of President Weah and his team of officials they have not been working in the interest of vast majority of the Liberian people.

The Unity Party lawmaker made the assertion on Wednesday, December 16, 2021 when he and the party’s Deputy Secretary General for Media Relation appeared on the Ok FM Morning Rush Show in Monrovia.

He emphasized that the CDC government is proceeding wrongly with the affairs of the country.

“I m not a leader that can play blind eyes to things affecting the lives of the citizens without speaking about those ills,” emphasized Representative Barshell.

According to him, this is the first time in the history of Liberia for the government to undertake projects and name them the President’s projects.

He argued that it is a wrong thing to use taxpayers’ money to undertake a project and afterward name it “President Weah’s project”.

Representative Barshell suggested that projects being undertaken by this government should rather be named in honor of the individuals who in the past rendered great services to the country.

The Unity Party lawmaker stated that he sees no logic in what the government is doing: naming projects carried out with the taxpayers’ money after President Weah.

Representative Barshell informed the public that currently the country is at a critical juncture, and that it needs a visionary leader like Ambassador Boakai to redeem it from the present state of affairs.

The Montserrado County lawmaker described the current budget before them as devilish and not in the interest of the country.

Elaborating on other developments in his district, he stated that with the limited resources they have been getting over the period of time things are on course and the citizens are collaborating with him.

In an related development, the lawmaker has again said that former Vice President, Joseph N. Boakai, is the only face in the CPP who can democratically unseat President Weah come 2023 presidential and general elections.
