The lawmaker pointed out that he will ever remain grateful for their role, and promised to seek their interest in a most appropriate and honorable manner at all times.
Representative Jurry appealed to his citizens to hold together and vehemently resist every attempt by detractors to tear them apart for whatever reason.
The Maryland lawmaker was speaking on Capitol Hill Thursday, last week, when he was honored by employees of the Legislative Budget Department on his birthday for excellent legislative performance and the concern he continues to show for the wellbeing of others.
Earlier, the newly appointed head of the department, Othello S Tarbah, lauded Representative Jurry for working harmoniously with his colleagues in the Legislature to push the agenda of the country forward.
Tarbah underscored that the lawmaker has not only proved to be the brain behind the success of his department, but strongly committed to the wellbeing of its employees.
Presenting a birthday card, the portrait of the lawmaker and his wife, and other items as birthday gift, the LBO boss urged the honoree to continue the hard work in the interest of the House of Representative and the Liberian Senate, yea the people of Liberia.
He pointed that employees of the Legislative Budget Office has nothing substantial to offer the lawmaker on his birthday, but their concern matters greatly.
The dramatic event was attended by staff of the Legislature, colleagues and a cross-section of well-wishers, friends, and relatives.
Representative P. Mike Jurry is a household name in the National Legislature. He is a charismatic leader and outspoken lawmaker who has served on several committees, including the committee on Ways Means and Finance, which he currently heads.
He was elected for the first time in 2017 as Representative of the county’s electoral district #1 with an overwhelming majority, and reelected in 2023 with similar margin.
He is popularly referred to by his admirers as Sunshine, a name he inherited from the county, known for its beautiful sandy beaches and attractive coastline.
