On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, members of the “majority bloc” of the 55th House of Representatives, led by Bong County’s district #2 Representative, James Kolleh, burst open the office of the embattled Speaker, Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa, in the presence of the media, but without any proved legal authority.

The orchestrators of the illegal eviction threw out all that belonged to Speaker Koffa, and insisted that the office is the official seating of the Speaker, whom they claim to be Montserrado County’s district #11 Representative, Richard Koon.

They, however, vowed to relocate Koffa to another office, but argued that he cannot keep holding the office hostage when he no longer belongs there. They provokingly told newsmen that, if Koffa likes he can seek the help of the law, as they are politicians and only doing what is expedient to run the state.

Meanwhile, the Rule of Law Caucus of the “minority bloc”, headed by Representative Musa Hassan Bility, has strongly condemned the act of vandalism and called on all Liberians to join them in rejecting such behavior.

In a release issued Tuesday, the Caucus urged President Joseph Boakai, the cabinet, the international community, the religious council, the Council of Churches, the Muslim Council and all stakeholders to intervene and demand an immediate end to the act of lawlessness.

According to them, the behavior of the “majority bloc” poses a direct threat to the security and stability of the country, as their actions are dangerous and undermine the rule of law, with the ability to create a potential crisis that could spiral out of control.

They disclosed that they will take legal action against Representative Kolleh, and that he will face the full weight of the law for his violent, unlawful and uncivilized actions.
