Rep. Samah To Make A Come Back In District #12?
“We can never have the real transformation that we need as Liberians except it is brought to us by ourselves,” these were the words of Montserrado County’s district #12 Representative, Dr. George Beyan Samah, during a mass citizens meeting held in the district.
On Friday, January 27, 2023, Representative Samah called for a mass citizens meeting in his district to inform the residents of his desire to re-contest for the district’s seat, in an effort to continue to serve the people of district #12 in particular, and Liberia at large.
Representative Samah made the disclosure in an interview with newsmen over the weekend when they toured several completed and on-going construction projects, as well as clean-up of drainages and garbage collection schemes.
Representative Samah maintained that, since he took over as Representative of the district in 2018, he has initiated several development projects, including construction and rehabilitation of inland roads mainly connecting the former Liberia Petroleum Refinery Corporation (LPRC), Chicken Soup Factory and Stephen Tolbert Estate, along the Japan Freeway.
As part of campaign to develop Montserrado County freeway, Representative Samah said he has been making periodic visits, inspecting market centers and basic infrastructures, including special project annexes, estimated at approximately US$80,000. Other efforts include the construction of a town hall, a school and the implementation of agricultural, health and education projects, as well as other ventures within the district. All these projects are being solely sponsored by Representative Samah.
He disclosed that he mediated in the crises that ensued among workers of the Monrovia Transit Authority when the entity received a huge consignment of buses donated to the Government of Liberia (GOL) by the government of India, which brought relief to the entity.
According to him, since his ascendency to the representative seat, he and his code of district officials have exercised oversight jurisdiction in monitoring all the projects, thus ensuring regular maintenance of the projects in order to ensure safety and completion.
Dr. Samah has meanwhile expressed approbation to the people of Montserrado County for their support and cooperation during his six-year tenure, and promised to do more.
Dr. George Beyan Samah hails from Lofa County, and has vast national and international experiences. Survey conducted by residents of the district indicates that Representative Samah has worked assiduously in bridging the gap between the desirable and the necessary deliverables.
“This time around, I’m in more readiness to work for the greater peace and smooth democratic election in Liberia,” Representative Dr. Samah assured the residents of Montserrado County’s district #12.
