The Resident Bishop of the United Methodist Church, Dr. Samuel Jerome Quire, Jr., has disclosed that the church is about to split, specifically for the introduction of homosexuality by the United Methodist Church Worldwide.

Bishop Quire made the disclosure when he recently addressed the official opening of the 42nd annual session and 42nd anniversary of the United Methodist Church (UMC) Men Organization of the Monrovia District Conference.

According to him, the plan of the United Methodist Church Worldwide to practice lesbianism and homosexuality in the church is totally against the worship of God. The UMC-Liberia Bishop said a man marrying another man or a woman marrying another woman would be a dangerous practice for Christianity.

Bishop Quire said the plan to split the church is expected to be put into action in America by the church’s World Bishops Council. He explained that the Methodist Bishops Council of Africa and other parts of the world are expected to break away from the Methodist Church if the Western Methodist Bishops Council pushes for same-sex marriage.

Bishop Quire noted, “In African tradition we do not practice same-sex marriage; therefore, we will not support any ugly act because of money. We will not go against the teachings of the Bible because of money.”

During the opening program at the M.F. Bailey United Methodist Church, the President of the organization, Terry T. Geweh, said the gathering was intended to discuss the progress and lapses of the organization for the year under review and plan for the next year.
