The United Christian Association Teacher Training Institute has graduated several Liberians in varied disciplines to provide impactful education service to Liberia and the world at large.
A teacher, according to artificial intelligence (AI), is an individual who provides education and instruction to students, helping them acquire knowledge, skills, and values. However, teachers can work in various settings, including schools, colleges, universities, and other educational institutions. Their roles can vary widely depending on the level of education, subject matter, and context in which they teach.
The graduation, which was on Saturday, April 26, 2025, put out 26 graduates, 13 from Early Childhood Education Division and 13 from General Education Division.
With the topic, “Dream Big”, the guest speaker, Pastor James Fully Seh, urged the graduates and those who attended the program to dream big so that they can impact people.
He said that the Chief Executive Officer of the United Christian Association Teacher Training Institute, Reverend Ecibeo N. Deah, Sr., dreamed big, but did not wrap it to sit over it; rather, make it impactful by touching lives and the education sector.
“He wants to see mama Liberia better and education strengthened,” guest speaker Pastor Seh said. “He needs people that will think like him to expand his dream.”
For big dream fulfilment, he challenged the graduates to manage time, observing that Liberia has complicated challenges and it takes time-conscious people to make it.
“If your dream is not being fulfilled, do not be discouraged; get on your knees and ask God for His will,” the keynote speaker said. “To achieve your dream, there are setbacks, but press forward. There will be frustration, but do not let them define you. Failure is inevitable, it should not be your dead end.”
He told the graduates to associate with people that think positively, have the same vision, and that will push them to fulfil their dream. He added that big dream fulfilment comes with hard work, sacrifice and patience.
“The skills qualified instructors have given you, go and act upon them. Do not sit down on it or wrap pit,” the guest speaker said.
One of the graduates, Emmanuel A. Philip, said he learnt classroom management and lesson planning, boasted that he is equipped to contribute immensely to the education sector of Liberia.
He called on Liberian who are not financially potent to take advantage of the teacher-training school, noting that it is affordable and well organized.
The Dean of Students, Apostle Emmanuel Dickson, informed the attendees that the lessons taught equipped the graduates academically to teach properly at any school in the Republic of Liberia and the world at large. He added that the program is “C” certificate, and is a 100-hour study.
The CEO, Rev. Deah, revealed that the recent graduation ceremony was the school’s first official one. He said the school is just established and it is affordable for everyone.
In furtherance, he said the school is being run by the grace of God, and that it is a nine-month program with “C” certificate achievement.
He outlined the challenges, saying that the administration is constrained to pay teachers because the school has no extended support, and students’ registration payment is tardy, due to financial difficulty.
One can enroll at the institution as long he is a high school graduate with all relevant documents.
“We do not pay school fee, but registration. Registration for the next academic year will start this month or June, and it is L$3,500,” CEO Deah said. “We will operate this time in one of the private schools here at Bernard Farm.”
He used the occasion and called on government, humanitarian groups, religious groupings, and so on, to support the school financially and materially beginning this academic year.
