The Secretary General of the Unity Party Youth Congress, Ambassador Evans Boima Tuku, has expressed profound appreciation to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. for his decisive action in implementing the recommendations of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) by reinstating Christopher D. Sankolo and Godia A. K. Gongolee as Director General and Deputy Director General of the Liberia Agriculture Commodity Regulatory Authority (LACRA), respectively.

In a release issued Monday, the Youth Congress commended the President for demonstrating unwavering commitment to the rule of law, due process, and the integrity of the LACC’s findings. “His action reaffirms the government’s respect for investigative outcomes and the principle that no suspended official should remain in limbo once cleared of wrongdoing,” the release observed.

However, the Youth Congress said it notes with concern that, while Sankolo and Gongolee have been rightfully reinstated, Superintendent James Momoh—who was suspended alongside them months ago and equally cleared by the LACC—has not yet been restored to his position as Superintendent.

“The LACC’s clearance of Superintendent Momoh, as publicly reported, leaves no legal or ethical basis for his continued exclusion from office. Consistency and fairness demand that all officials cleared by the same investigative body be treated equally under the President’s directive.

“Therefore, as Secretary General of the Unity Party Youth Congress, I respectfully call on President Boakai to extend the same justice to Superintendent James Momoh by reinstating him with immediate effect to his former position. Such a move would further solidify the administration’s reputation for impartiality and adherence to the very anti-corruption and accountability principles that the President has championed,” the release noted.

“The youth of our party remain steadfast supporters of President Boakai’s governance agenda and believe that correcting this oversight will enhance public trust in our leadership and institutions,” the release added.
