Upper Virginia Citizens Welcome FOLAO Development Plan
The elders, religious leaders and the entire leadership of the Menneh Town, Ricks Community, Upper Virginia, Monsterrado County, have welcomed development initiative coming to their community from the Federation of Liberian Associations in Ohio (FOLAO). FOLAO is one of the chapters of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA).
FOLAO was fully represented by its Secretary General, Johnetta Marshall, Alfred Sieh, Project Coordinator, along with his wife, Pastor Cecilia Sieh, among others, at the developmental engagement meeting held on April 24, 2025 in the Menneh Town community.
According to Sieh, FOLAO projects at home aims at improving the livelihood of Liberians. The FOLAO Project Coordinator noted that Liberians based in Ohio, the United States of America, have decided to give back to their home country.
According to him, the project to be implemented by FOLAO in Liberia is fully sponsored by Liberians’ own dollars.
During the engagement meeting, FOLAO officials requested that the elders, religious leaders and the leadership of the Menneh Town community provide site for the construction of a ten-room toilet.
He said the toilet rooms will be divided into two; five rooms for males and five rooms for females. Sieh reiterated that his group’s toilet project is a modern one similar to what they have in the United States of America.
In response, the elders, religious leaders and the entire leadership of the Menneh Town community, Upper Virginia, accepted FOLAO’s developmental initiative aimed at improving their lives. They pleaded that FOLAO project be implemented in each community of Brewerville.
Currently, the Federation of Liberian Associations in Ohio (FOLAO) is constructing hand pumps, toilets, providing scholarships at home, among others, for Liberians.
