Anthony G. Nyoundy, Chairman, Vigorous Campaigners for the Re-election of President George M. Weah

A political auxiliary of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), “The Vigorous Campaigners for the Re-election of President George M. Weah”, has called on Liberians to maintained President Weah for the second term so that he can fulfill his on-going nationwide development agenda.

The political group’s Chairman, Anthony G. Nyoundy, told a bevy of journalists during a press conference that, as Liberians have yet again reached a critical decision-making point, they must not be carried away by political rhetoric from politicians to make President Weah a one-term President; rather, consider the development he has achieved along with the on-going ones and reelect him so that he can complete them.

The group, which has about over 3,000 membership nationwide, has decided to support the second-term bid of incumbent President Weah, having evaluated the political atmosphere and diagnosed that most politicians who wished to vie for the Liberian presidency are not patriotic, but after their personal aggrandizement.

According to Chairman Nyoundy, they have been using their ideologies and finances to support the President’s second-term effort, noting that he is the best “real change maker” Liberia has ever seen.

He outlined the following as unprecedented development initiatives that the President has undertaken, and for which he should be reelected: the pavement of the corridors between Ganta and Sanniquellie,  between Sanniquillie and Luogatuo through Kamplay, Ganta and Seclepea Road to Tapita; the connection of Harper and Fish Town Road; the construction of a 150-bedroom Samuek K. Doe Memorial Hospital in Grand Gedeh County; and 100 pro-poor housing units each in Kpelleh Town, Pelezon and Tuzon, all in Grand Gedeh County.

He added that the President should also be reelected for the on-going pavement between Bong and Lofa counties, the construction of the Tamba Taylor City Hall in Foya, the construction of a mini hydro between Foya and Vanhum, among others.

For the President’s second-term maintenance, he sees free tuition at public schools as a leverage, especially at the University of Liberia. Also, the President’s payment of WAEC fees, and so on, as driving force to reelect him.

“He also installed the digital program to curtail long lines of students while going through their academic processes,” the political auxiliary Chairman said. “Please join hands, hearts and heads together in reelecting President George M. Weah in order for him to complete the tasks the Liberian people have assigned to him.”
