The Rt. Rev. Dr. G. Victor Padmore, Presiding Bishop of the Lutheran Church in Liberia, has come out with a strong statement on the wellbeing of the Liberian society.

Bishop Padmore said Liberia was not meant to be in the form and manner it is now. He asked, “Where are the lawmakers, senators and the President who promised to transform Liberia?”

Bishop Padmore made the statement during a program marking the 10th Annual Convention of the Monrovia District Lutheran Church in Liberia, where he served as guest speaker of the occasion.

He said Liberia, established on Christian principles—“too many things are happening and our leaders are not speaking”.

The Presiding Bishop of the Lutheran Church in Liberia  wondered where is Liberia headed as a country.

According to him, greed is eating every segment of the Liberian society, which he said is wrong as a Christian nation.

Bishop Padmore noted, “As a Christian country love should be found in us.” He observed that this is creating a major setback for the country and its tomorrow generation, and urged the body of Christ to remain focused in their communication with God. According to him, most people pray but do not get feedback from God because the manner in which they ask is wrong.

He said Liberians should seek God first and every other thing will be added unto to them. The Bishop wondered about the role of the Council of Churches in current-day Liberia. He stated that the church plays an important role in the forward-march of the country.

“Our leaders are yet to comment on secret killings across the country,” he lamented.
