19 International Scholarship Students Depart For Ivory Coast

In fulfillment of continued support in developing the human capacity for a wholesome and functioning society, the Government of Liberia (GOL), through the Ministry of Education, has awarded 19 international scholarships to deserving and merited Liberian youth to study at the Institut National Polytechnique Felix HOUPHOUET-BOIGNY (INP-HB) of Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire. The students were selected through a vicarious and transparent vetting process.

   Meanwhile, the students selected departed on Thursday, December 17, 2020, from Monrovia to Yamoussoukro via Abidjan, to immediately commence their respective academic programs 2020/2021, precisely in the engineering disciplines.

   The areas of concentration of study are: information and communication sciences and technology, industrial engineering sciences and technology, processing engineering and technology, civil engineering, mining engineering and geology, and agricultural engineering technicians.

   According to a Ministry of Education press release, the total number of students awarded the international scholarships are 19, comprising of 8 males and 11 females, and that the scholarship program was offered to the Liberian Government by the Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD), to study at the Institut National Polytechnique Felix HOUPHOQET-BOIGNY (INP-HB) of Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire. The duration of the study is four (4) consecutive years.

   The Ministry of Education has extended gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah for his farsightedness in negotiating and lobbying for such a worthy initiative for the growth and development of Mama Liberia.
