600 Metric Tons Of Rice to Arrive Soon–Sen. Joseph Discloses
Montserrado County Senator, Saah H. Joseph, has disclosed that a consignment of 600 metric tons of rice will shortly arrive in the country to buttress the effort of government with respect to the on-going rice crisis.
Making the disclosure to Legislative Reporters Tuesday at his Capitol Building office, Senator Joseph indicated that considering the shortage and the predicated crisis of rice next year, he has decided to forge partnership to bring into the country what he termed as “Montserrado rice”.
The Montserrado County Senator further revealed that conversations have been concluded with his partners, and that the first consignment of the “Montserrado rice” will be in the country shortly.
Speaking further, Senator Joseph averred that he initially put in for 25,000 metric ton of rice, but based on the fact that other companies have decided to bring rice into the county, it has been reduced to 600 metric ton as the first consignment.
In a related development, the Montserrado County senator also mentioned that additional ten buses will arrive in the country next week to add on the initial ten buses he previously brought in.
According to him, when the additionally ten buses arrived, buses will transport market women and other passengers from Monrovia to Freetown, as well as Monrovia to Conakry.
He ended by indicating that major roofing works are ongoing at the Vision Vocational and Technical College in New Georgia District # 13, and at the same time commended Jefferson Baptist Church, USA, and Sethi Brothers Liberia for their support.
