A five-day spiritual cleansing for Liberia kicked off on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Samuel Kanyan Doe Sports Complex, Paynesville, outside Monrovia.

According to the President and Founder of the Five Star Ministerial World Alliance, based in the United States of America, Bishop Dr. Fredrick T. Nah Jr., Liberia has not yet realized its full potential in its development drive since its establishment.

Bishop Nah noted that the lack of development in Liberia over the years is not normal; rather, has a spiritual implication, which needs to be handled spiritually.

He stated that the cleansing will focus on every sector of the Liberian society, and will be done through fast and prayer to change the minds and attitudes of Liberians.

He stated that Liberians should stand up to ensure that their potentials are realized fully to help change the narrative of the country’s development spiritually, physically and socially.

Bishop Nah underscored that the spiritual cleansing, as well as the Peace and Reconciliation Summit, will bring together pastors and spiritual leaders from several states of the United States of America , Europe, Asia and other African countries, like Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, among others.

Meanwhile, the Spiritual Advisor to President George Manneh Weah, Rev. Emmanuel Nimely, said the spiritual cleansing of Liberia has been a vision since 2006—to bring spiritual leaders from around the world to pray for Liberia.

Rev. Nimely stated that the exercise was planned to take place in 2019, but did not materialize at the time. However, he said, this is the right time of God.

He asserted that spiritual cleansing is not just about the land, but draws the people closer to God for direction in transforming and developing the country and its people.

He lauded President Weah for his commitment to ensuring that the nation goes through the spiritual cleansing.

He noted that if Liberians come together and cry to God through prayer it will go a long way in maintaining peace and reconciliation among the people.
