“We Came To Save Lives”; Says Grace Healthcare Center CEO

Karzah, one of the most populated communities in the Omega area, outside of Monrovia, is said to be lacking good healthcare delivery to the many dwellers in that part of the country.

   Speaking in an exclusively interview with the Hot Pepper at the only medical facility in  Karzah community, Omega community, the Chief  Executive Officer (CEO) of Grace Healthcare Center (GHC), Francis Akoi, said the formation of the health center was predicated upon the demand of healthcare delivery for the population of the community. Akoi said every time people died because of the lack of healthcare delivery system for residents of the community.

   According to him, Grace Healthcare Center (GHC) was meant for a guest house, but looking at the healthcare demand from the area he and his wife, Grace Akoi, decided to shoulder the responsibility to provide healthcare service to the many dwellers of the community.

   The CEO, who is based in the United States of America, said their guest house would have given them lots of money, but looking at the livelihood of the people they decided to focus their attention on public health delivery.

   The clinic provides treatment for Malaria and Typhoid, and offers blood test, urine test, MTT (urine), Hepatitis B test, Hepatitis C test, kidney function test, liver function test, Cholesterol, uric aid and protein.

   At the Grace Healthcare Center, pregnant women and children are said to be received as priorities.

   According to the CEO, fees at the clinic are affordable, and that many of the medications come from abroad, including beds for patients.

   Akoi said he and his wife is making sure to bring the clinic up to international standard.

   The healthcare is named in honor of the CEO’s wife, Grace Akoi.
