Lofa Citizens Frown On Dr. Daniel Cassell

Lofa County citizens residing in Monrovia have frowned on calls by presidential hopeful, Dr. Daniel E. Cassel, to reject the senatorial ambition of former Representative, Moses Kollie.

The former representative is under massive pressure by citizens of the county to stand in the 2023 senatorial race, but Dr. Cassell said that Moses Kollie is not up to the task.

The People’s Liberation Party Political Leader did not state clearly why Moses should not be preferred, but stated that Lofa deserved people with good record to represent the county in the upper house of the National Legislature.

Dr. Cassell made the observation during a visit to Bassa Community and Buzzy Quarter recently, but his statement was greeted by condemnation mainly from Moses Kollie’s supporters in the two communities, who dominated the meeting.

According to them, Dr. Cassell’s pronouncement has the propensity of creating confusion and undermining peaceful election in the county in the up-coming 2023 general and presidential elections.

One Monrovia-based Lofa citizen told the Hot Pepper that the audience expected Dr. Cassell to dwell mainly on his unprecedented decision to contest the presidency, and not to castigate another contestant.

John Kolubah said Moses Kollie, whom the learned presidential aspirant tried to castigate, is a well-respected citizen who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the county, and as such Lofa citizens in Monrovia stand ready to give him the needed support to win the senatorial race if he contests.

He disclosed that Dr. Cassell lives most of his life in the United States of America with no significant contribution to Lofa, as compared to Moses Kollie, who is always at the vanguard in promoting the interest of the county and its people.

Kolubah warned the presidential hopeful to concentrate on his election and stop making mockery of potential and responsible Lofa citizens in the midst of his people.

The bad blood between Dr. Daniel Cassell and Moses Kollie, both Lofa citizens, began when the government denied Dr. Cassell the right to land his helicopter in the country.

Since then, the PLP Leader, who accused Moses Kollie of masterminding the plot, stands accused of being out to denigrate Kollie at every public gathering.
