Nimba County’s district#5 Representative, Samuel G. Kogar, is calling for justice in the mysterious death of Princess F. Cooper, a citizen of Yao-Nyanlay, Buu-Yao Administrative District, electoral district #5, Nimba County. Representative Kogar made the call on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 on Capitol Hill in a press conference.

The Nimba County lawmaker told reporters that the death of Cooper and all other citizens who were victims of killings and mysterious disappearances is not only alarming, but increasingly points to the lack of political will to meticulously investigate the many non-isolated cases and past broken promises. He pointed out that the death of Cooper has caused more fear in the country, which he said can scare away investors.

“Lack of knowledge on information dissemination to the public causes waste of resources and useless pursuit to influence positive outcome. We strongly feel that the government must take concrete and concerted action to bring the culprits to book to alley the fears of its citizens while at the same time maintaining investors’ confidence,” he stated.

The House’s Committee Chair on Commerce and Industry further urged the government to work on the system of information dissemination to the public, noting that it is important and helpful to the government. Representative Kogar underscored that he is keenly observing and following all the processes that will lead to the establishment of facts surrounding the mysterious death of Cooper at the ELWA intersection in Paynesville.

Representative Kogar informed reporters that, upon receiving news of Cooper’s mysterious death, he quickly located the home of the bereaved family in order to identify with them and stand with them through the legal struggle. He told the media that Cllr. Tiawon Gongloe has agreed to provide free legal services for the family. He vowed to stand by the family throughout the process until the needed justice is given to the Cooper family.
