Alleged Rapist, Sampson Otis

The Liberia National Police (LNP) has arrested one of Liberia’s notorious rapist and a recidivist, Sampson Otis, a 34-year-old Nigerian national and a pastor of City of Mercy Church, Bong Mines Community, for allegedly raping a 15-year-old minor on June 6, 2020.

Suspect Sampson Otis was arrested based on a complaint of alleged rape filed against him by Ellen Deno for raping a 15-year-old girl believed to be a member of his church.

Suspect Otis was arrested, investigated, charged and forwarded to court in January 2019. Police’s preliminary investigation further revealed that in December 2019 he allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl and escaped to an unknown destination.

While investigation was underway at the Women and Children Protection Section (WACPS), a writ of arrest from Criminal Court “A”, Temple of Justice, was served for the previous rape charge against him, and he was subsequently turned over to the court’s sheriff for prosecution.
