The Founder of Liberia Clubfoot Program (LCP), Augustine Chiewolo, has called on the Government of Liberia (GOL) to take charge of the program.

Chiewolo said the issue of clubfoot in Liberia must be prioritized by the government as a major issue because it has the propensity of undermining the wellbeing of tomorrow’s leaders.

Clubfoot are people living with feet turned upside down. In Liberia those suffering from such deformation are mostly children.

The Liberia Clubfoot Program boss noted that he sees it necessary that the government take charge of the issue as part of it national agenda of addressing the needs of the Liberian people.

He said since its establishment in 2011 the Government of Liberia (GOL) is yet to provide the necessary support to children living with clubfoot in the country.

When asked as to how many children have benefited from the LCP, he responded as saying that about 3,000 Liberian children across Liberia have been treated so far.

According to him, the LCP has been able to train medical practitioners at various public health facilities in ten of the fifteen counties of Liberia.

Chiewolo stated that the LCP is totally free to the public.

At the same time, the LCP Executive Director praised Miracle Feet, an international organization for providing support to the clubfoot program.

Commenting on other issues, Chiewolo, who is also the Founder of the Faith Medical and Lab Clinic in the Bassa Town Community, Redlight, Paynesville, said he and his wife embarked on health initiatives to provide their support toward the growing demand for quality medical service delivery in the country.

According to him, Paynesville City, being one of the most populated communities, needs to have medical centers to address the health conditions of dwellers within.

At the same time, the OIC of the Faith Medical and Lab Clinic, Deddeh Kessellie, said the clinic provides the following services to the public: surgical, laboratory, obstetrics, general body scanning for medicine, among others.
