The Gender Section of the National Elections Commission (NEC) has concluded a two-day intensive gender training for Elections Magistrates and Logistics Officers of the Commission in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

The NEC Gender Section training was funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Electoral Support Office, the governments of Sweden and Ireland, as well as other donors and partners.

The training focused on understanding the specifics of gender concept and mechanisms. The gender policy of the NEC was also discussed during the Buchanan training.

A NEC release issued on Sunday says the training was conducted under the theme, “Unpacking Gender in Elections”.

The UN Women and Peace Building Fund also provided support to the gender training, which seeks to unpack gender in elections.
