The Conservation International Foundation (CI) on Thursday, August 4, 2022 donated some items to the management of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA), aimed at fighting illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, as well as environmental issues affecting the coastal communities in the country.

Items donated includes 20 mini cameras (waterproof), 20 memory cards, 5 laptops, 8 GPS (waterproof), 24 tablets, 24 tablet cases, 24 power banks, 75 HD rain boots, 75 HD rain gears, among others.

Conservation International has worked to spotlight and secure the critical benefits that nature provides to humanity, combining field work with innovation in science, policy and finance.

The group empowers societies to responsibly and sustainably care for nature. It has helped protect more than 6 million square kilometres (2.3 million square miles) of land and sea across more than 70 countries.

Making remarks during the occasion, NaFAA Deputy Director General for Administration said the people will use the items for their intended purpose, and that they look forward for more partnership.

Augustine Manoballah thanked and appreciated the CIF for supporting the project, and promised to fight against the IUU.

He made the statement at the headquarters of NaFAA, noting that NaFAA will live in line with the agreement that was signed by both parties.

He prayed that the next donation that will come would be more than what they donated as partners, but that he really appreciated the good job from their partners abroad and in Liberia.
