Pres. Weah Extols India On 75th Independence Observance

President George Manneh Weah has sent a congratulatory message to the government and people of the Republic of India on the occasion commemorating their 75TH Independence anniversary on August 15, 2022. 

   According to a Foreign Ministry release, in the message to Indian President, H.E. Smt. Droupadi Mumu, the Liberian President, on behalf of the government and people of Liberia, expressed heartfelt congratulations and sincere best wishes to the government and people of India as they commemorate this joyous and historic occasion.    

   As the people of India celebrate this historic moment, President George Weah noted, with deep satisfaction the heightened bilateral ties subsisting between the two countries and peoples, and added that his government looks forward to the strengthening of the already excellent bilateral cooperation subsisting between Liberia and India, for the mutual benefits of both peoples.      

    President Weah further expressed hope that the two countries will work together in furtherance of peace, security and global economic development within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

   The Liberian leader then prayed for the personal wellbeing of President Droupadi Mumu. He also prayed that the Almighty God showers the India President with abundant wisdom and strength as she leads the people of India to higher heights.
