Bible Society Of Liberia Ends 5th Annual General Conference

 The Bible Society of Liberia has ended its 5th annual general conference at the Monrovia Christian Fellowship, 9th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia.

   The conference brought together a huge number of its membership, under the theme, “Bridging the Gap in Christian Leadership in Liberia,” II Timothy 2:2.

   During the conference, there was a group discussion among members as it relates to finding a solution for the gap in Christian leadership in the country.

   Every year, the Bible Society of Liberia meets annually to report on activities that were carried out during the year under review and as well as adopt a new agenda for the following year.

   The Bible Society of Liberia is involved into Bible translation, literacy program, trauma healing, prison ministry, among others. It was established to support the workings of the Christian community in the country.

   During the one-day working session of the BSL, an election was conducted and all of the board members were re-elected to steer the affairs of the body for the next four years.

   Those re-elected are Rev. Dr. Jerry P. Kulah, Chairman of the Board; Rev. Joseph N.D. Bannah, Vice Chair; Dr. Roselyn Toe Massaquoi, Treasurer; Peter Kollie, member; Reginald Broplet, member, Success Taylor, member; and Janneh Momo, member. Also, two new members were voted into office.

   Speaking prior to the voting process, the keynote speaker of the conference, Atty. Maria-Salome P. Smith, one of the Pastor’s of the Providence  Baptist Church in Monrovia spoke on the importance of capacity building.

   Smith encouraged members of the organization to unite for the greater good of the body of Christ.

   She said the church must unite because Jesus Christ was the first to train his followers and today Joseph has spread to ever segment of the world.

   The annual conference of the BSL was well attended by over hundreds of it membership in Liberia.
