The Chairman of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Mulbah K. Morlu, has called on all Liberians who have reached the age of 18 and above to make use of the on-going biometric voter registration process and, at the same time, threatened members of its Executive Committee who will fail to form part of the voter registration exercise.

Chairman Morlu made the call on Monday, March 20, 2023 during the launch of CDC’s biometric voter registration awareness at the party’s headquarters in Congo Town.

The CDC Chairman disclosed that, beginning next week, all executive members of the CDC will show proof of their biometric registration.

According to the party’s Chairman, Mulbah K. Morlu, the threat is intended to serve as a means of increasing partisans’ interest in the biometric voter registration exercise rolled out by the National Elections Commission on Monday, March 20, 2023.

According to Chairman Morlu, the real enemies of the party are not oppositions but rather partisans and officials who refuse to take part in the voter registration process. He said such individuals are on a mission to hinder the re-election of President George Weah, but vowed that they will not have a chance to do anything that will stall President Weah’s re-election.

The CDC Chairman vowed to take several actions, including suspension of executive members and partisans working in government, for failing to register on time.

In a related development, thousands of “minutes sellers” on Monday gathered at the CDC headquarters to declare their support for the party come October 10, 2023 general and presidential elections.

The “minutes sellers” said their support for President Weah’s second term bid is as the result of his development initiatives across Liberia.
