On Monday, May 15, 2023 thousands of residents of electoral district #3, Montserrado County, turned out en mass to petition Patrick Komoyan to contest for the district’s seat in the up-coming general and presidential elections.
The District Development Council, religious community, community bloc leaders, women wing, youth, among others, were all represented at the ceremony. They all read statements of support toward the representative bid of aspirant Komoyan.
In their petitions, they made known their solidarity for aspirant Komoyan’s candidacy as an independent candidate come October 10, 2023, and implore him to lift their hopes by throwing his hat into the race.
In response, aspirant Komoyan accepted their petition and promised to contest as an independent candidate. He vowed that, if elected, his leadership will provide transparency at all levels in the discharge of his duty to the people of the district.
Komoyan emphasized that the interest of the people must matter, indicating that his leadership will provide redemption for the district.
He claimed that the district has been poorly represented during the past six years, alleging that the incumbent lawmaker has been running after his own interest and not the district’s.
The representative-aspirant underscored that the interest of the people and the district remain his priority. He disclosed that, at the end of May 2023, his partner will provide free vocational skills training program for 500 young people of the district.
The petition ceremony brought together thousands of Komoyan’s supporters, sympathizers and well-wishers who paraded the streets of the district.
