Bestee identifying with rural women

A cross-section of rural women in Maryland County has expressed their deep appreciation for the U.S.-based non-profit organization of Liberians, “Bestee”, for its humanitarian gestures and financial assistance to women in the county. Bestee, established over a year ago, aims at empowering rural women involved in agriculture and promoting social justice and respect for human rights.

Earlier this year, Bestee donated a number of essential items, such as diggers, cutlasses, wheelbarrows, shovels, rain boots and coats to the OAU community in Virginia. Additionally, the organization recently initiated a massive clean-up campaign and successfully cleared several drainage systems in the Monrovia areas and suburbs.

The rural women of Maryland County expressed their admiration for Bestee’s humanitarian gesture in assisting with the burial of an indigent individual, which they considered highly commendable. They pleaded with the organization to continue their engagement with rural women, emphasizing the importance of not raising their hopes only to disappoint them, as other organizations have done in the past.

Amanda Wright, the Chief Executive Officer of Bestee, expressed her gratitude for the statements of appreciation regarding the timely and much-needed humanitarian assistance. Over the past year, Bestee has established chapters in all 15 counties of Liberia, enabling them to reach out and provide much-needed assistance to rural inhabitants.

Rural dwellers, particularly women, face significant disadvantages in grappling with the high cost of living, making them desperate for humanitarian aid to sustain their livelihood.
