Girls Aid Liberia, a not-for-profit women and girls organization based in Monsterrado County, Liberia, has graduated its third circle of students in vocational skills.
Speaking at the graduating ceremony, held in district#3 and district#2, Monsterrado County, the Executive Director of Girls Aid Liberia, Abednego Doctor Massaquoi, noted that the third circle of his organization’s graduation is a success for the vision of the organization.
According to Massaquoi, women’s capacity building is key to the growth and development of any nation, with Liberia being no exception.
He used both ceremonies to call on the government and people of Liberia to support females capacity building initiatives across the country.
Commenting on programs provided by Girls Aid Liberia, the group Executive Director stated that they provide free training in the following areas: tailoring, soap making, catering, tye & dye, among others, for trainees of the institution.
When asked about the brain behind his women initiative, he responded as saying that God is his only means.
Massaquoi is calling on the Government of Liberia (GOL) and other well-meaning Liberian citizens to support his project, because his action is buttressing government’s effort in addressing the issue of females capacity building in Liberia.
He spoke on a wide range of issues confronting women’s development in Liberia, but ended as saying that a plan is underway to decentralize Girls Aid Liberia operations in each community in Montserrado County as a way of helping less fortune women and girls in the country.
The program was well attended by graduates of Girls Aid Liberia, families of the graduates as well as invitees to the program.
